Doraemon is undoubtedly the manga symbol of Japan, from the duo Fujiko Fujio. The cat-robot is the mythical mascot of the Land of the Rising Sun!
Doraemon is a manga that is part of the "kodomo", in other words, a manga for children. This one appeared in Shogakukan's CoroCoro Comic magazine between 1969 and 1996.
Behind this work hides Fujiko Fujio, a name for two authors! Motoo Abiko, born in 1934, and Hiroshi Fujimoto, born in 1933. Childhood friends since they were in the same primary school in 1944; they reunited in 1952 and created their first manga. Their creation is strongly inspired by Osamu Tezuka, who ultimately represents their adolescence.
In 1987, the duo separated and each decided to follow their own path. The authors will keep their pen name, adding “F.” for Hiroshi Fujimoto and “(A)” for Motoo Abiko.
Fujiko Fujio F. passed away in 1996; at the age of 62. And on April 7, 2022, it was therefore Fujiko Fujio (A) who left us at the age of 88. The first police examinations do not reveal any suspicious injuries or lesions, the artist would have collapsed in his residence in Kawasaki, Tokyo.
Our thoughts obviously go to the family and loved ones of this very great man.
Fujiko Fujio's manga has sold over 100 million copies, and is obviously one of the best-selling comics in the world.
In addition to being a manga, Doraemon has been developed into an anime. First in a 52-episode format, produced by TMS Entertainment in 1973. Then in a river format.
There are also films, video games, and of course a whole bunch of derivative products. More than a manga, Doraemon is a true muse in the Land of the Rising Sun.
In January 2021, we learned that The Breaker Season 3 was in production! This return is now official, under the title Eternal Force!
Thus, on January 21, 2021, Park Jin Hwan announced that he was looking to recruit a colorist for The Breaker Season 3. This is obviously a turning point in the series since, until now, it was a manhwa in black and white.
Would The Breaker take the direction of a Webtoon format? This is indeed what the designer mentioned in July 2021! He spoke in particular of publishing season 3 in a “scrolling” format.
In August 2021, Park Jin Hwan unveiled a preview of the storyboards for The Breaker Season 3. He also announced that he had drawn two episodes.
At the beginning of April, the author unveiled the cover of part 3, with a surprising title: Eternal Force! In mid-April, the author explained that serialization would begin in May or June. After multiple delays, we were finally approaching a real release date!
So it's Wednesday, April 27, we got the official announcement! Eternal Force (The Breaker Season 3) premieres Friday, May 6 on Webtoon.
For those interested, the author announces that The Breaker and The Breaker New Waves should be available on Webtoon within a few weeks. Because yes, they were previously published on Kakao Webtoon.
As regards the French publication, the volumes can be found at Meian editions, which has taken over the title and started a reissue. We can therefore discover the 30 volumes of the series thanks to 3 exclusive boxes! These are accompanied by goodies: ex-libris, artbook, poster etc…
And since March 24, 2021, the publisher has been republishing the work in Ultimate format!
Satoru Noda is relaunching his ice hockey manga, Supinamarada!
While this one has just concluded Golden Kamui, Satoru Noda is already taking over the pen! It is very rare to see a mangaka take one of his old stories out of the drawer. Master Noda proves to us that it is quite possible.
Because yes, before Golden Kamui, the author's first work was none other than Supinamarada, pre-published from July 2011 to November 2012 for a total of 6 volumes. The synopsis is as follows:
The story takes place in Hokkaido, in the city of Tomakomai, and follows Rô Shirakawa, who practices the discipline of ice skating at a high level. Death strikes his family and shatters his dreams of competing in the Olympics. He meets the Genma brothers, a duo of hockey players who introduce him to this sport.
So, we don't really know if it will be a reboot of his work or a real sequel. It is certain that with the experience acquired during the 8 years of pre-publication of Golden Kamui, many ideas have swarmed in the mind of Satoru Noda. For the moment, no release date, which does not prevent to jump on the volumes of Golden Kamui available at Ki-oon editions or in anime on Crunchyroll.
After Days on Fes, Kanata Oka draws a brand new manga! This is none other than the adaptation of the light novel Junpaku to Ôgon by Junpaku Natsumo. The manga will be called Kenran Bankara and will obviously make fists speak. To find out more, here is the story that awaits us:
In the "Golden Age of Delinquents", in northern Japan, where the villains are so numerous that they rule the roost. A man known as the "White Demon" appears and defeats one thug after another, restoring order; then disappears, becoming an urban legend among bandits. Today, in Tokyo's Neko-oda Ward, six schools are sending six emissaries to find a new White Demon.
Chapter 0 made its appearance at the end of the month on the Comic NewType site of the publisher Kadokawa. It is indeed a weekly publication that awaits the new work of Kanata Oka with the next chapters which are already scheduled for May 3 and 10.
A castagne manga as we like that is likely to get people talking!
